Soybean Exhibit at Lincoln Park Zoo
This is the most extensive interactive soybean exhibit in the nation. It tells a complete story of soybeans from farm to fork. Through special effects and multiple buttons and cranks, the exhibit offers children a unique opportunity to learn. They will discover what soybeans look like, where they come from, how they are produced and the global market that uses them. The exhibit is hosted at Chicago's famous Lincoln Park Zoo. It was funded through soybean checkoff dollars provided by the United Soybean Board and the Illinois Soybean Association.
American-Grown Performance at World’s Largest Truck Convoy
Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) sponsored the participation of three Illinois companies in the Special Olympics World’s Largest Truck Convoy on September 20, 2008. The three companies, Double D Express, Peru; Hoekstra Transportation, St. Anne; and SS Chad Express, Sigel; each promoted biodiesel through their trailers wrapped with “American-Grown Performance” graphics, which the soybean checkoff funded earlier this year. Each of these companies volunteered their trucks and their time to help support the Special Olympics Illinois.
